Vintage 2004 was one of the warmest and earliest harvests in a decade and yielded beautifully ripe Cabernet Sauvignon. This year's Briarcrest was sourced from prime benchland and hillside vineyards throughout Alexander Valley. After fermentation and out month of extended maceration on skins, the wine was aged for nearly 24 months in Fiend oak barrels. This powerful wine showcases Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon in its pure form: blackcurrant, ripe blackberry, anise, sweet tobacco, vanilla and spice. This expressive wine is firm but approachable, balanced with fruit, and ends with a long, supple finish.
