Chateau De Beaucastel Red Wine, 2006

The 300-year-old vineyards at Chateau de Beaucastel are treated without chemical fertilizers, herbicides or systemic pesticides. All thirteen grape varietals of Chateauneuf-du-Pape are planted, with mourvedre, grenache, counoise, syrah, and cinsault predominant. Each varietal is harvested and vinified separately. The final blend is a stunning wine, very opaque ruby/black in color, with a melange of aromas, complex layers of flavor, with spicy character and richness. The Perrin brothers carry on the family tradition of making as natural a wine as possible, so this very long-lived wine will throw a sediment. Decanting is recommended. Alc 14.5% by vol. Product of France.
