Canoe Ridge Red Wine, Horse Heaven Hills, Columbia Valley, 2006
Famed explorers Lewis and Clark named the site of our estate vineyard in 1805. From the Columbia River, the two adventurers thought the nearby ridge looked like an overturned canoe. The broad Columbia River moderates the warm temperature during the long days of sunshine, extending the grapes' time on the vine. Our estate vineyard's unique location, sandy loam soils and limited rainfall allow us to make concentrated and complex wines with a personality unique to Canoe Ridge. Alc 13.5% by vol.
