Craigellachie Speyside Aged 23 Years Single Malt Scotch Whisky - Box

Craigellachie Speyside Aged 23 Years Single Malt Scotch Whisky - Box. Old fashioned in 1891. Founders - Edward & Mackie. Type: Craigellachie distillery in cask. Signature 23 y/o Single Malt. Note: Sitting stubbornly atop a rock in Speyside, our distillery uses rare worm tub condensers to impart unusually strong, sulphury flavors to its spirit. 750 ml. A style seldom met. In the 1890s whisky expert Alfred Barnard noted that Craigellachie represented an old-fashioned style of whisky "seldom met with now", which we took as a compliment. Ever since, we have stubbornly maintained the methods that make our whisky so distinctive. It's why we are one of the very few distilleries that still use worm tubs to cool the spirit from the stils. They bestow it with extra flavors of a strong, sulphury nature and help to create a gutsy dram that rivals whiskies twice its age. The distillery cat: At one time the distillery had a cat which liked to warm itself high up in the stillhouse. However, when it smelt the vapour coming off the spirit as it rose up the stills, it would run away. Seeing the cat move, the stillmen knew that it was time to turn the steam off, making for an unusual team effort. No chill-filtering. Enjoy responsibly.
