Ingles Markets remains dedicated to the health and safety of our communities. We continue to refine our COVID-19 response to provide the safest environment for our team members, customers and vendors. Based on CDC recommendations, we are requiring all associates to wear a mask.

Contactless Payment

Customers may make contactless payment by placing a smartphone or pay-enabled debit or credit card near a contactless-enabled devise, rather than swiping or inserting a card into the PIN pad. Our cashiers are available to assist customers unfamiliar with the process. This will help customers reduce contact with commonly used surfaces like PIN pads.

Social Distancing Guidelines

We care greatly about the health and safety of our customers and our associates that serve them. Appropriate social distancing measure recommended by health officials are a very important part of protecting our customers and associates.

In our stores, we have prominent signage and we use our in-house radio to encourage recommended social distancing. We have marked our checkout lanes and introduced one-way aisles to keep customers safely separated while they check out.

We have installed plexiglass shields at all points of sale to protect cashiers and customer service associates.

Because of COVID-19, customers that bring in reusable bags will be asked to bag their own groceries. Our associates are always available to bag customer purchases in bags provided by Ingles.

Updated Store Hours

Effective March 23, our store hours are:
7 am to 9 pm (all store except TN)
7 am to 10 pm (TN stores only)

Ingles dedicates the first shopping hour from 7 – 8 am on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to senior shoppers and those with compromised immune systems.

Return Policy

At Ingles Markets your family and our associate’s health is a top priority. Because of COVID – 19 concerns, we are temporarily suspending product returns. If any fresh perishable item (meat, seafood, deli, bakery or produce) doesn’t meet our freshness standard, we will replace it or issue a refund.

Guidance to Our Customers Regarding COVID-19

Over the past few weeks, many of you have been shopping in our stores and stocking up on the essentials to keep your families healthy and safe. We appreciate your business and want you to know that you and your family’s health is our priority, too.

We have always maintained a high level of cleanliness in our stores, and we know it is more important than ever right now. In addition to our normal cleaning procedures, we are ensuring an even more rigorous cleaning routine throughout our company. We have ramped up our cleaning schedules on surfaces like checkout and U-SCAN lanes, touchpads, and shopping carts, to name a few. We are following the latest guidance from the CDC, which recommends regular cleaning as one of the most important preventive measures we can take.

We are limiting sampling at this time; however, if there is a product you would like to sample, please ask an associate.

In addition to taking care of our customers, we are also committed to ensuring our associates are safe. We depend on our associates, as they are what makes our company great. At this time, we have asked our associates to avoid shaking hands, reinforced good hygiene, like 20 second hand washing and covering sneezes, and we are reminding our associates who are sick to stay home and get well.

Our associates are working hard to make sure that the products you want are available. As demand remains high for certain products (like cleaning products, medicine, toilet paper, etc.) we are sending products to our stores as quickly as possible. To support all customers, there may be quantity limits placed on some products.

We are committed to keeping our customers and associates healthy and safe. We will continue to monitor this situation, follow the recommended guidance from the CDC and do all we can to protect our customers and associates.
